Elk and Scissors
The walls are painted by hand: barber tools at full size, labels for each of them and a "you are here" marker. The mural works both as decoration and as wayfinding.
Idea
The brief was to dress the room so the mural works as both decoration and wayfinding. The visual reference was an old barber manual — white line on dark, like an engraving. First the whole wall was roughed out on a tablet: which tool goes where and where the marker lands.
Materials: acrylic, chalk.
